Limited Capability for Work – Work Capability Assessment
Who is this course for?
This course is for advisers who are looking for a detailed understanding of the points-based assessment of Limited Capability for Work (LCW) and Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) in Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit claims.
Aims
It will provide advisers with a detailed understanding of the descriptors and the award of points under both the physical and the mental, cognitive and intellectual function assessment activities. It will address the exceptional circumstances in which LCW and LCWRA can be awarded if the client is not awarded the required 15 points under the limited capability for work assessment.
Objectives
At the end of the course delegates should:
- Understand what the descriptors mean
- Be able to identify which descriptors are relevant to specific groups of claimants
- Be able to identify the problem areas and who is vulnerable to these
- Feel confident they can provide relevant information when completing a limited capability for work questionnaire
A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
