The charity for your community
All courses are normally led by the advice team at the Unit.
Full-day courses are generally 10am – 4pm with half day courses generally 10am – 1pm (morning course) or 1.30pm – 4.30pm (afternoon course) but please check the course details for the actual times.
Bookings will normally be confirmed, usually by email, within 10 days. Please make a note in your diary as we will not usually contact you again until joining instructions are sent 2 weeks prior to the course.
Tea and coffee will be provided for all full-day courses and half-day courses. Please note that lunch is not provided for any courses.
Please bring a calculator and pens.
These will be sent out to you, usually by email, approximately two weeks in advance of the course.
It is important that you have either attended Introduction to Welfare Benefits or have a working knowledge of the benefits system before enrolling on any of the other courses.
Please read the aims and objectives of your chosen course carefully so that you book courses relevant to your needs and experience. If you have any queries, or would like to talk through your training requirements with us, please contact us.
Please indicate any specific dietary or accessibility requirements on the booking form, along with additional persons who will be accompanying you eg: carer or PA.
A hearing loop is available for all venues but we do ask for advance notice so that we can make arrangements. We would also ask that you advise us of additional needs or persons who may be accompanying you on the course, eg helpers, interpreters etc, in order that we can include them in the venue arrangements.
Every course will be evaluated so that attendees have an opportunity to feedback into the ongoing development of the programme. Your comments are extremely valuable to us. If you have training needs not met by our programmes then you may be interested in commissioning your own course from us.
