Who is this course for?
This is course is for any adviser keen to understand how to ensure that relevant information is provided on a DLA form. It will be of particular interest to advisers who have, or wish to have, a role in helping claimants complete DLA forms.
Aims
The course is designed to enable advisers to understand what is important when using the DLA form to explain how a child meets the criteria for the benefit.
Objectives
At the end of the course delegates should:
- Understand the entitlement criteria for DLA and how to explain the care needs and mobility difficulties of the child
- Understand how to explain care needs substantially in excess of the normal care needs of a child of the same age
- Know where to find the DWP guidance on decision making and how to use it in completing the DLA1
- Feel more confident when completing a DLA1 form
A complete set of slides will be provided at the end of the course.
